GMs playing Characters

There is a stigma against a GM playing as a Character in their own game. Especially if they want to play -while- GMing.
Common things said are they can't stay objective, that they will use knowledge that no one but the GM knows, that it will slow the GM down having to both GM and play, and the list goes on for nigh forever.

I'm a GM that calls BS. Most of the time.

I am, and know, quite a few GMs that can keep GM and Character two separate things, don't slow down play and do not give themselves the main role in the game.

I also know quite a few GMs that can't stop from doing the above even just being the GM, forget it if they want to play a character.

For about 3 months I GM/played in a World of Warcraft tabletop game (Great game btw, uses DnD 3.5 rules and fits WoW play decent enough) and never had an issue keeping my "team" as normal characters. My players also said I did a great job keeping things separate and the game moving smoothly. I say Team above because I actually was playing as 4 different characters, depending on where my players were in the world would decide who I played as from Troll Warrior/Rogue, Human Wizard/Warlock, Dwarf Tinker or Human Tinker/Warrior.

Flip side. I played in a game where the GM decided to also play as a character while GMing, and took 15 minutes not only to decide when any player did anything, but took the same amount of time when his character did something. Very unorganized. The largest example I have of this is a 7 hour (without breaks) boss fight. At the end of said boss fight not a single person was happy with the game and about half the players left (stating that session 'as the last straw') I really feel for that GM and wish him luck in getting better organized. He had great ideas, just couldn't pull them together.

So what type of GM are ye?
Would ye keep your cool/morals and play fair if GMing and Playing or would ye be better off just sticking to GMing only?

Mission 02 - Distress Beacon

We had our second mission on April 4th and again I am amazed at my players. This time around it was the daytime players (I have three groups in this game it seems. Those that can play during the day, normally around Noon EST, those that can play at night, normally starting around 20-21:00 EST, and those that can swing both) and I was really impressed with their reasoning skills. Between the group I had four enemies planned in total, either as four separate fights or two fights with two enemies depending on how it happened and they were able to completely get around those fights through genius RP.
Using Ifrit (a fire elemental summon) they tracked down some Fire Elementals and instead of fighting them they spoke to them (again, I love groups that aren't Hulk Smash! in each session).
The next part that happened I wasn't even planning until the next mission but the RP and way it felt was just too good to pass up. I had the group of Elementals 'possess' each party member one at a time and go through said party member's memories. The purpose of that was to see if the party member was viewed as clean or tainted in the Elementals 'eyes'. If found clean nothing would happen, the Elementals would float out of the character and state they are clean then wait for the next character to give permission to test them. If found tainted the Elementals would 'purge' them of the taint, taking said character to 1 HP, then state they cleaned the taint and said character is now clean.
Given I made the clean/tainted test as a % roll made in secret, I'm really surprised that only one character was found tainted (and find it interesting that it was the Angel). All the characters taking place in this test gained a specially made Advanced Trait (hard to explain these... think plot-point hooks that a player can activate to get cool benefits, or impose some difficulty in return for points to use toward activating the cool benefits part.)
I'm very eagerly waiting to have Mission 03 - Terraforming. Where it continues "Beta's" issues as seen in Mission 02.

Mission 01 - Rescue The Lost!

We had our first official mission on Thursday the 11th.
I have to say, I'm impressed by me play group thus far... They think pretty well on their toes, don't spend an hour debatin a single course of action (something that plagues some online RPGs (obviously the 'pen and paper' types, not RPG as the game genre a-la WoW, Diablo I/II/III, and many others.)
While we had to have it in two separate days because of a mishap (See RE: RL) I was very satisfied with the session and the whole experience, as were me players.
Some of the highlights were three members climbin a mini-mountain to see the landscape around them (it was pretty much all desert), each getting a chance to roll 4 times to look around (to the North, South, East and West) an they were able to get all directions between the three of them, they just all botched at least one direction and scored another one. Now that is teamwork hehe.
They also had a good idea in trying to distract an enemy/boss while they Evac the team they were sent to rescue. Unfortunatly I already had a second enemy/boss at the Gate point where they needed to get to. Doing this did get them out of a pincer attack however! (Pincer Attack is when enemies are on both sides of ye, very difficult)

In the end they were able to beat the two enemy/bosses and rescue the team, safe an sound!

Instead of posting up a log like I did with T-01, as that was Long (with a capital L even) here is a link to the log on the wiki-site.

Till next time.

RE: RL

Sometimes a game just doesn't go as planned.
Jono's GM Rules #3.

Last week on the 4th, I was having the first 'official' session/mission of Demon-World. And only one player shows up. *insert sigh #5, the 'This can't be a good sign' sigh*
I'm able to get two other players to hop in who happen to be online at the time and we get started (only one of who had signed up, but hey we're still able to do a mission right?)
About 5 minutes into it one of my players let us know that they are basically dead on the keyboard right now and super tired. It's cool, two person session I've done before. I just need to tweet the bosses to make sure they don't run over the two folks still in it.
About halfway through the session the other player that wasn't signed up for this session tells us that a buddy was in a wreck and they need to run to the hospital because the buddy listed them as the person to call if something bad happens.

As rule #3 states above, "Sometimes a game just doesn't go as planned."

We scrapped the first session for the moment and rescheduled it to next Thursday (A week after it was supposed to be), giving priority to the two that were able to make it through half the session as that way I can just continue from where we left off and not start all over with my players knowing what is going to happen for half the session heh.
Biggest thing a GM needs to learn is not to get mad or upset when these things happen. Real Life should always take precedence over the game.

The fine art of balance.

This is something that I used to get caught up in many times. Balancing the real world with play world, and within that play world, balancing your time and player time, balancing each character's 'shining' time with normal time with 'not-so-shiny' time (as in when they are the star of the show, a player in the show, or not that big a part at the moment).
Being a GM is very much about balance.
Putting it into real world examples: a few days ago I was juggling spending time with my almost 5 month old son, eating, and trying to get some things done with Demon-World (I'm gonna abbreviate that to just DW from now on heh). Needless to say, I spent most of the time with the kiddo as he had just woke from a nap and was needing some attention and play. I was able to get about 25% of what I set out to do that day with DW complete, aye I was a wee bit ticked that I didn't get more done, but I was happy to have some things I moved forward. And I worked just a wee bit harder the next day and made (mostly) up for it. Ah speaking of... need to put up the stuff that Trey helped me out with... I was rearranging it so it looked a bit more easy for me to read.
There is also something about balance when ye are planning on being both a GM and a player (I'm planning on for DW to become a multiple GM endeavor around Mission 30-ish and making myself a character to play in it when other GMs are running a session.) As a GM, especially the Head GM, ye need to balance what ye know of your world and what your character would know and would do. I've honestly seen more GMs slip up on this rule then just about any other... It's not fun, it leads to parties going "Ok, just follow the GM-Pet, they know where to go...".
Good planning and great balance can lead to a very happy RolePlayer and a very happy game.

T-01 Log

You are all down in Sub-Basement 3, where the large workout arena is located as well as the testing room. It is in this Testing Room that Jeska leads you.
Jeska: "Welcome to the Testing Room, this place is able to make just about any kind of environment we can think of. It uses holograms to simulate visual and advanced gravity generators as well as scent creators to simulate anything else within the physical realm of possibilities. This test will be sending you 'offworld' without having to endanger you too much."
Riselv: "So ... we're simulating realities?" he asks not very convinced of understanding the point.
Aika: "...Maybe?" Half those words had flown over her head.
Trey Miller: "Something like that."
Ceres: "Ah... I've been waiting to see this in action." *grins a little sheepishly*
Trey Miller: "Though, just for the record, I have no clue why I was told to be here. This early in the morning. Before I've had my coffee..."
Jeska nods to Riselv "The room will make it look like you are not in the room anymore, but trust us when we say that you are still there. It will also change around so that it will seem like you are walking in a straight line, but will never hit a wall."
Jeska motions for the four of you to walk into the room.
Aika: "Well then, let us get started." Aika nods, before limping right on in.
Riselv: "Ok, some training should entertain us for a while"
* Trey_Miller grumbles. "Yes, but no coffee?"
* Ceres follows Aika in, hands in her labcoat pockets
* Riselv walks into. "Take it as ... "We have been in a place for several days, and yes, there is no coffee" situation"
* Trey_Miller sighs. "Right, this is going to be rough." He follows the others.
Jeska smiles "There will be coffee for you when you are done." she then disappears and you hear over a speaker system "Pretty lifelike isn't it? Truth be told, you are already in the room, you walked into it when you went through the small hallway before we stopped."
Trey Miller: "Tell us that before we look like idiots next time, would'ja?!"
Aika: "I do not think that was the point, Trey."
Ceres: "...Fascinating."
* Riselv 'shrugs'. "Whatever"
* Trey_Miller sighs. "Sorry all, too early in the morning, no coffee, and I get an idiot grunt knocking on my door telling me to get down here. I'm a little bit annoyed."
Jeska via Speaker: "We're going to give you a taste of what the room can do, this is just for the techies here that run the room to show off really..." you hear someone say 'Hey!' in the background "First we're going to try zero gravity. Basically like you are out in space."
And like that, you now all can float around as if in space!
* Riselv moves and tries to grab to the now-gone ground. He is, simply said, a bad joke at space. "What the...!?"
Aika: "Wha-!"
* Aika is not much better than Riselv. Probably worse, if that's even possible :p
* Trey_Miller stands still as his entire body feels the sudden weightlessness. "On second thought, this would be kinda bad on a full stomach." He's still on the ground due to not having moved since announcement.
The room now turns into looking like everyone actually *is* out in space. Stars around and the deep blackness everywhere
Riselv: "Now we're IN the night? ... What's going on?" he is very panicked, or rather, confused.
Ceres: "Hm... not just fascinating... this is cool...~"
Trey Miller: "Disconcerting..." He bumps his feet to slowly float up.
Aika: "I am as lost as you are, Riselv..."
Trey Miller: "Just breathe, you two. Remember, this is just a simulation."
Jeska via Speaker: "We could make it as if you really were out in space, no oxygen and the such, but obviously won't. We kinda like you all alive." *She chuckles* "Go ahead and play around, we'll change the visuals so it's easier to see where you are and just jump off walls and the ceiling, just don't do it too fast."
* Trey_Miller finally reaches the ceiling and bumps into it head first.
* Riselv breathes not quite following Trey's indication. He, instead, pants.
The walls and ceiling go back to being visable and they seem... easier to see which is which, you aren't sure how though
* Trey_Miller pushes off and begins moving around the room to get acclimated to zero-G.
* Riselv floats directly to a wall and tries to stay there, but without gravity, he starts floating again above it.
* Ceres allows herself to casually drift...~
* Aika just floats around aimlessly, unable to figure out how to move around in Zero-G
Trey Miller: "What next? Targets?"
Aika: "I hope we don't ever have to fight under these conditions..."
Riselv: "What? you actually mean we're fighting in this condition?"
[OOC] Riselv: <.< Reading minds?
* Trey_Miller shrugs as he floats by, giving Aika a nudge toward a wall. "Why else would they put us in this situation?"
Trey Miller: "Just think of everything as being a rock or tree to jump off of and move. It'll get easier."
Aika: "I am not able to jump around like the rest of you!"
Trey Miller: "Suit yourself. It could save your life or the life of your family one day."
* Riselv floats to a nearby wall and tries exactly that. "Tree, tree, tree..." he puts a paw in the wall and waits for the rest of the body to lean on it. After it, he impulses himself in the other way and goes flying like a bullet, he repeats the operation three or four more times.
* Aika gives Trey a dirty look. "That is a low blow, Trey."
Jeska via Speaker: "We're putting in some 'hard spots' they will look like a odd colored rock and will feel like a rock to. This should help people get around and stop."
Trey Miller: "Sorry Aika, but if it puts things in perspective for you, then I'll do it."
Riselv: "You mean, rocks that even have gravity?"
And there are now about 15 small rock-looking things, most about 5 feet above the ground and spaced out pretty well. They are all different shades of grey and blue
Trey Miller: "Wait there's what now?" He turns his body just in time to bouce off one. "Oh, them. Ow!"
Jeska via Speaker: "They will act just like a rock, just they are floating in the air."
Aika: "I do not think I can fight very well under these conditions, anyhow..."
* Riselv is starting to like zero-G stuff. "This sure will be fun."
* Trey_Miller catches one of the rocks as he starts to pass and comes to a stop crouched on it.
* Aika manages to anchor herself by digging her claws into a rock she slowly drifts past.
* Riselv simply goes jumping from a rock to another, and to the walls. He starts jumping all over the room.
Aika: "...At least one of us is enjoying this."
* Ceres drifts over to a rock to sit and observe quietly~
Jeska via Speaker: "We're going to switch the environment now. We're slowly putting up the gravity so you all should just kinda float back down to the ground. This next part is really cool, each of you is going to feel like you are in water to about your chest. You can't drown and there is still air, but you will feel like in water. Everyone ready?"
Riselv: "When do you spect to do this out there, this is really fantastic"
Trey Miller: "Well, it's entertaining at first but...after a while, it gets a bit boring."
Aika: "This should be interesting."
* Trey_Miller jumps off the rock and angles toward the ground, coming to rest as the gravity kicks in.
* Ceres also climbs off her rock, still in awe of the training room D:
* Aika hops off her rock once gravity is evident enough to land easily on the ground and not bounce off.
Riselv: "What? Water! ..."
The rocks disappear and now everyone feels like they are in water coming to their chest. This effects everyone, Aika and Ris feel like it's no deeper then Trey or Ceres would.
Trey Miller: "Well, if it feels like water, then I should be able to do the backstroke in midair. Not sure I want to test that, though...."
* Riselv jumps back to the ground. "Ummm ... I don't know if I like it or not, I don't remember swimming before"
Aika: "It is not that deep. No deeper than a river or a stream."
Jeska via Speaker: "You can Trey. You should be able to do anything you could in a swimming pool."
* Riselv starts floating in 'water' and swims naturally in the new environment.
Trey Miller: "Any way for you to mark where the level is on each person?"
Aika: "Well, chest high is not all that deep for Labayus like Riselv and I, so..." She just walks around a little.
Jeska via Speaker: "Hmm... I should... there we go!" * a light blue line appears on each person at about mid-chest, the line circling the body of each person.
* Trey_Miller nods and quietly experiments.
Jeska via Speaker: "And if Aika or Riselv want deeper 'water' they just need to ask."
* Riselv seems to be having fun with the new environment and swims around 'squelching'. "I wouldn't mind deeper, this is just great!"
Aika: "So much for not remembering how to swim before?"
* Aika chuckles lightheartedly.
The water for Riselv goes a bit deeper, his light blue line raising to just under his chin. He should be able to 'doggy paddle' pretty easily now
* Riselv grins and laughs. "Simply said, I'm a natural on this" and 'paddles' around.
Aika: "Heh..."
If anyone swims by another, they can feel a phantom wake from each other, just like if in water.
* Riselv swims around the room.
Jeska via Speaker: "We're letting go of the water now. We're getting ready for the real test here so give us a moment while we start up that program." * The water seems to fade and the light blue lines go down as if a water level draining.
* Ceres wobbles slightly as she regains her normal footing, then glances around, trying to find the hologram generators in the room out of curiosity
Aika: "Very well, then."
Ceres would see slight sheen from glass that is spaced out evenly in 1 meter squares. That's most likely where they are.
... they are spaced out 1 meter. The glass is actually only a few inches squared heh
Jeska via Speaker: "Alright, we're good to go. Here comes a sight many of us don't want to see, even in simulation." * The scene shifts to one of magma, spires of flame shooting up from the ground in the distance, and what most would call simply 'Hell' "Welcome to World 666. This training program is to show you what may await if you ever end up here and to get you ready for it."
Riselv: "Ah right right ... the demons"
Aika: "...Well, this is a change from 999."
Riselv: "I like more the one I come from"
Ceres: "...I'm surprised we are not charred instantly by the obviously superheated air." *straightens out her coat a bit, hrming!*
Aika: "Life's little blessings."
Riselv: "So the training is to defeat a 'holographic' demon?"
Jeska via Speaker: "The object of this game here is to rescue a fellow Agent who has been kidnapped by the Demons. They are trying to convert him into a Fallen Angel, because as luck would have it, it's none other than Jones that got kidnapped. This mission is timed once I say Go, if you don't find him and rescue him in time he will be turned and the mission is failed."
Aika: "We have a direction?"
Jeska via Speaker: "We have a theory that there is a Demon holding pen to your West, it has not been confirmed yet however." * A compass pops up and shows which direction is West then disappears.
Aika: "Better than nothing." Aika nods, before looking at the others. "Are you prepared?"
* Riselv nods.
* Ceres nods to Aika
Jeska via Speaker: "Alright then. Ready? GO!" * The tempature of the room goes up a good few degrees, putting the party in Much warmer climate.
Aika: "Let us move, then!" Aika begins to head west at a limping trot. "Stay alert!"
* Riselv is starting to feel the heat. "Damn, I hate this, let's move fast, I don't want to be in this climate for a long time"
* Riselv adopts a serious attitude and follows Aika.
And everyone can give me an Awareness check please. Those with Tracking can also roll that as well.
* Ceres hurries along!
Sugarlips: Riselv, 1d100: 79 [Total: 79 (High), Avg: 79.00] - still have blocked tracking.
Sugarlips: Aika, 2d100: 67, 97 [Total: 164 (High), Avg: 82.00] - Awareness then Tracking at 54
[OOC] Riselv: hmm I'll GF that
Sugarlips: Riselv, 1d100: 9 [Total: 9 (Low), Avg: 9.00]
Sugarlips: Ceres, 1d100: 69 [Total: 69 (High), Avg: 69.00] - Awareness 40
Aika: You think you see some dragging-type tracks heading a bit to the south-west now, going down a stone-made ramp to underground. Riselv: You also see some slight dragging-type tracks, though they are heading straight West on a bridge.
Riselv: "Hmmm ... there is ab bridge over there, apparently West was right all from the beginning"
And Ceres doesn't see much beyond scuff-marks on the ground sadly.
* Aika being in the lead, naturally follows the tracks she thinks she finds, beginning to head down the ramp when Riselv speaks up. "Huh?"
Riselv: "Look the tracks over here" he points them out.
Aika: "Uh..." Aika looks back at what she thought she saw.
You can give me another Awareness and Tracking to take another look at the tracks Aika saw.
Sugarlips: Aika, 2d100: 33, 59 [Total: 92 (Low), Avg: 46.00]
[OOC] Aika: Tracking fails, but Awareness passes! brb
* Riselv shows the tracks he just saw and switch places to see the other tracks.
Ceres: "Hm?" *obviously was too busy looking at eeeverything curiously to really notice, then glances over at the...catwolfcharmanders*
They are more clearer when looking at them from this angle. They *are* tracks, however it looks like they were caused by some kind of odd demon and not an Angel being dragged away.
[OOC] Aika: Back
The ones Riselv found look like someone being dragged away though
Aika: "...Hm... Looks like your tracks are the right ones."
* Riselv looks up. "We should be moving then, let's go" he starts going towards the tracks he found.
Aika: "...Does anyone know how much time we actually have left?"
Ceres: "We weren't given much more of a time table other than 'quickly'... so no."
Aika: "Let us assume that we do not have much more, and hurry."
Traveling on you come to a fork in the road, there are three ways you can travel. From Riselv's crit from before, he can see the drag-tracks head to the Left one. Though you can kinda see something glinting off fire-light not that far down the Right one. The middle one you can't see anything beyond road/stoneways.
Aika: "Which way?"
And you are free to do an Awareness roll to look down each of the roads if you choose.
Riselv: "Huh? ... split?"
Aika: "Which way do those drag marks go?" Even as she says this, she looks down the right path.
Sugarlips: Aika, 1d100: 60 [Total: 60 (High), Avg: 60.00]
Sugarlips: Ceres, 1d100: 30 [Total: 30 (Low), Avg: 30.00] - Awareness 40
Right as in the one to the right, or the correct one? heh
Riselv: "I should go with the tracks we were looking earlier." but before he examines the left path.
Sugarlips: Riselv, 1d100: 46 [Total: 46 (Low), Avg: 46.00]
[OOC] Aika: The rightmost path, leading to the firelight
Ok. Aika doesn't see much, whatever is shining glinted into her eye when trying to see down there. Ris can see that this is the correct path where Jones was dragged. Ceres, which path did you look down? Left, Middle, or Right?
* Ceres glanced towards the middle!
* Riselv nods and starts running that direction (unless someone stops him). "This way!" (left path if no one opposes )
* Aika nods, and hurries after Riselv. "Right!"
Ceres can see that this path actually dead-ends about 20 meters down the road and can see something moving around down near there. Doesn't look human.
Ceres: "Be careful, there are... things lurking near here." *starts to follow Rislev, but keeping her eyes peeled
* Riselv hmphs as in 'I understand' but keeps running.
Alright, after following the Left path for a while you all come upon a small hut made of stone and what looks like remains of some kind of animal. Smells pretty bad.
There is a single doorway (no door, just an opening) that leads into the hut. It's dark inside though, so you can't see anything in there yet.
* Riselv tries to look some marks or tracks or any other hint that indicates where to keep searching (( awereness? ))
* Aika just grimaces. Ick, that smell...
Go for it
Sugarlips: Riselv, 1d100: 33 [Total: 33 (Low), Avg: 33.00]
Ris can tell that someone was being dragged in there. Got loose for a moment and fought, but was most likely knocked unconsious and dragged inside.
Riselv: "Guys, apparently we need to rescue him inside the hut...." he points again the marks he found.
Aika: "Then let us go!" Without waiting, Aika rushes in as fast as she can (limp, limp) into the hut, eyes sharp for whatever is inside.
* Riselv nods and rushes inside, too. No time to think, only act.
* Ceres` hurries after the two, readying her rifle!
Inside you see a spiral stairway heading down with firelight lighting the way deep underground.
* Aika hurries down those stairs without a second thought. Probably not as fast as she likes, but hey, limpping beast, stairs. They do not mesh well
* Riselv keeps running inside downstairs, trying to go as fast as he can.
As you descend you start to hear cries of pain and some odd yelling or maybe chanting. Then there is a different voice, it sounds like Jones, but speaking something you don't understand.
Aika: "Stay strong, Jones...!"
* Riselv is in his mode weapon. Anything that is between Jones and 'his freedom' must be destroyed. He seems to be getting his real self to surface.
At the bottom of the stairway you find Jones surrounded by two Demons, a third smaller one is running back and forth getting things for the two bigger ones.
Ceres: "He's trying..." *frowns as she cocks her rifle, readying to fight!*
The small one eeps when it sees you three and runs into one of the big ones screaming something at the top of its lungs. They turn around and the field gets all swirly!
Aika: "Get away from him-!"

Battle End!
* Riselv nods and hmphs
* Aika relaxes just a little bit, before hurrying over to Jones' side to see how he is doing.
* Ceres` hurries after Aika, ready to administer first aid!
He's tied to a torture rack, one that some Demons use to get an Angel to become a Fallen Angel. Something about the magic inside it.
* Riselv , after switching off weapon mode he breathes normally, again.
* Aika tries to find a way to get him off that rack, dangit >_O
He's only tied to it, so it is pretty easy to cut the ropes or untie them. Jones will semi-slump down/fall over when untied from The Rack.
* Riselv looks at Jones. The simulation was way too real, maybe they really fought Demons drom W.666
Aika: "You know first aid, Ceres? Because I am not good at emergency stuff like this. Katto was our healer."
Ceres: "Not off the top of my head... but I do have these." *tries to administer a potion, to see how that will help him!
Riselv: "Think we need to carry him over to Jeska?"
* Jones moans a bit "I'll be alright..." once the potion hits him he seems to get more strength "Thanks Ceres... I think I can 'port us out of here now."
Aika: "Good..." Aika breaths a sigh of relief.
You start to hear more demons above and running down the stairs.
Jones: "As a matter of fact, I know we need to 'port out..."
Riselv: "Shouldn't this simulation be terminated? I mean, we saved him already..." he seems little worried, though.
Aika: "Uh, yeah, let us hurry and get out of here ^_^;;"
* Jones gathers everyone near him and raises his arms. You see white light and get kinda dizzy for a moment and then pop! Back in the Testing Room.
Aika, you actually did just teleport. You know that feeling from before.
* Riselv is really confused now. "We really went there?"
Or the room is just *that* good >_>
* Aika just looks a might surprised, before shaking her head.
* Jones looks to Riselv "Nope, it was all simulation... Well, except me. Thought we'd throw some reality at you kids as well."
* Ceres` hms, nodding some as she rubs her chin, quiet once more!
Riselv: "So ... there were demons, real demons here?"
* Aika doesn't need reality checks, having had more experience under her belt than she like'd, but she watches the others try and understand what just happened.
* Jones shakes his head "Nope, those were what they call semi-solid holograms. They were fake. You folks and Me were the only things real."
Riselv: " Hmmm ... difficult to believe. Interesting, though. It really proves our strength, somewhat"
Aika: "Though, I hope we do not have to go to 666 anytime soon..."
* Jones nods "It's not fun. Trust me, when my little bro went... well, Zeek hasn't been the same since..."
Aika: "Hopefully we will go to other worlds with lesser dangers..."

Session T-01

Just ran Session T-01 a bit ago. Was pretty fun too. Had the team go into a Testing Room which is much like the X-Men's Danger Room or Star Trek: the Next Generation's Holodeck.
I'll post up the log for the session in a moment.

Jessi spoke to me about creating a character, iirc (which is "If I Remember Correctly" in IRC-speak heh) she said she was thinking about an Angel Cleric/Mediator. Which sounds pretty fun really.

While in the middle of the session Trey dropped out, not sure why (hope nothing bad happened) so I had to adjust the upcoming fight on the fly. Instead of a mini-battle with 2 minor demons and then full battle with 3 minor demons and 2 lesser demons, I had them just fight a full battle of 1 minor demon and 2 lesser demons. (The lesser demons still took them a while, though mainly because they weren't focusing on one enemy at a time and spreading damage out.)
Well, time to post up the log and get to bed!
